Status per May 12 2007

Stijn has not found Lydia. In the evening Stijn, Joep and Els return to the lions cage. The lion tamer is there also. He shakes and looks very nervous and frightened. The lions are still very restless. The lion tamer tells them again he is not going to perform this evening, he will not enter a cage with these restless wild animals. The evening show is about to start and the first spectators are entering the circus tent. A few moments later the big lights of the circus switch on. Thanks to this bright light Joep the monkey sees something is crawling in the cage. He lights his torch and then Stijn notices it too. It the snake Stijn and Joep saw in Lydia’s mysterious box….. this snake crawls through the lions cage. At that moment Lydia appears again. The snake escaped from her box and she searched for her snake all day. The snake crawls to Lydia. She takes the snake and puts it the bag she carries with her. She walks towards the lion tamer. “Don’t be a coward, tonight you have to perform”, Lydia shouts at him. “My spectacular act needs the lions and your support”. The fear and nerves are too much for the lion tamer and he collapses. “You are a sissy indeed”, Lydia shouts at him. After that, the lion tamer went to his bed, hiding under the blankets and shaking all over his body. Stijn and Els have told the boss of the circus what has happened today. The boss decides to have a look at the lion tamer’s condition. Lydia is there also. The boss of the circus tries to convince the lion tamer he has to perform tonight. “You have to perform, every competent lion tamer has to know how to calm down these animals”, the boss says. The lion tamer stays in his bed and doesn’t intend to perform tonight. “Now you can see with your own eyes what a coward he is, I told you before he was a sissy and does it in his pants every time he enters the cage”, Lydia says. “Watch your language missy”, the boss shouts at Lydia. “One more lie or a problem with that creepy snake of yours and you are fired”. “You wouldn’t dare! Your circus is nothing without me and my act, I am the only reason this circus still makes money”, Lydia shouts back. “Watch out mister, tonight a journalist of the paper is going to interview me, I could tell him what a sissy your lion tamer is and what a bunch of loosers the rest of the circus is”, she threatens.
